The right to life, the right to social security and the right to an adequate standard of living are acknowledged by the member states of the United Nations in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Articles 3, 22 and 25.1).

Despite our economic wealth, scientific knowledge and technological capability, almost 800 million people on our planet live in extreme poverty, an estimated 795 million are chronically undernourished and more than 2.6 million children die each year unnecessarily because of this. This tragedy must be put to an end.

We believe in a society based on freedom and a free market economy, but the right to life should not depend on changing economic conditions or charity. Therefore, we advocate the introduction of a global basic income, which guarantees every man, woman and child the means to live.
